What to do, what to see? In Port Alberni, BC
The Starboard Grill is finally opening!
Posted on Oct 9, 2012 in What to do, what to see? In Port Alberni, BC

The wait is almost over for Port Alberni's newest and most anticipated restaurant opening in a long time! The Starboard Grill is set to open this Thursday, October 11, 2012. Brad Declerq has been working on renovating the space at the Harbour Quay for a few months now trying to prepare it. He says it will be a nice place to get a great meal, and hopefully will fill a missing gap in Port Alberni.
Brad is a long time chef, but first time restaurant owner. His resume includes the Old Station City Pub in Nanaimo, Crown Isle in Courtenay, and Weigh West in Tofino. The menu will soon be posted on the website, www.starboardgrill.com, in the mean time it's posted on the door of the restaurant.
The initial restaurant staff of 13 has been hired and trained, but they are always accepting resumes. They're excited to open this Thursday, even though they may be opening without a liqour license, and they've had to borrow tables and chairs from another restaurant as their order has gone missing. Since the community has been anxiously awaiting this restaurant, they really wanted to get open, even though they're not quite 100% yet.
